THE SANCTUM ∞
Event Information
This is a temporary page describing the Sanctum for the March 2026 Pulse event. A formal page with updated setting details for all locations in Panorama will be posted with the Aftermath at the end of the event.
During the event, however, players can reference this page to help flesh out thread details when their characters arrive at the Sanctum.

Overview
In contrast to the rest of Panorama, the Sanctum looks how you might expect a functioning modern-day city to appear: buildings are intact, cars are polished (though not newer), and streets are relatively clean. Grocery stores have more consistent and fresher stock. City services such as garbage and snowplows are available. Drains are cleared more often, so there's less flooding during the rainy seasons. A few important buildings are armed with turrets or other automated alarm systems that, following the blackout, will be shut down, smashed, or ripped out.
Many of the buildings are made of glass, and windows aren't boarded up all the time. You won't trip over a body on your motel doorstep. Rusty, abandoned cars are nowhere to be seen. At night, no gunshots wake you up outside your window. Trees are trimmed. Fancier restaurants and office buildings might even have a few flowers planted. Sure, there's litter here and there, and you'll find a couple of places that are under construction or in need of repairs, but for the most part, it's nice. (Until the mob.)
Fashion in the Sanctum varies just as much as it does elsewhere. There is, however, a trend toward business clothes with delicate and softer fabrics rather than the hardier, functional clothes preferred by residents of the Pavilion. It would appear that much of the fabrics and textiles shipped out of Acreage wind up here. That's not to say the Pavilion can't or doesn't get its share, either. The Sanctum simply seems to have people who are more willing to purchase these items, so that's where the market goes. Pavilion fluxdrifts overwhelmingly prefer to purchase looted clothes or scavenge their own.
There is one downside about the Sanctum that no one in the Pavilion needs to worry about: cameras are everywhere. The entire area is under constant surveillance—or it was. The blackout means none of the cameras will be working during the event.

Locations
The Sanctum has the same general locations that the Pavilion does; the difference is just in the quality of the stock and the stores themselves. Diners are less greasy, coffee shops are inviting, and there are casinos with slot machines in place of the backroom gambling dens. As far as what players can make up, you're welcome to add to the number of existing coffee shops and office buildings.
There are, however, a few institutions not seen in the Pavilion: libraries, a "university", a bank, and a handful of research labs with actual funding. We've outlined some of these below to help you set the scene for the event.

Lyceum Institute of Knowledge
Students in the Sanctum rely on private tutors and teachers rather than schools. There simply isn't the population nor the resources to sustain a standard teaching institution in the Diadem. The Lyceum Institute is more of a gathering place for academics to discuss their ideas and perhaps take on a small handful of selected pupils than a school that hands out degrees and gives scheduled classes. The attached library and vaults contain all manner of items gathered from the diffusion zones over the years: ancient artifacts, strange technology that no longer works, scrolls in runes no one can read...but there are also seemingly mundane items, too. Signed concert posters, original DVDs, a collectible action figurine—things now in preservation because of how rare they are in the Diadem.
Central Bank
The Central Bank is where the wealthy store their money. Unlike the cash-driven society of the Pavilion, Sanctum residents have payment cards and credit cards, and are able to take out small loans from the Central Bank. Opening an account with the bank requires you to have a good amount of money and influence. The Bank is run by a faceless figure known only as the Secretary. It's unclear if it's one person or multiple, but the identity of this person is highly coveted. Joolies are also printed here. During the event, a large amount of vault cash will be set ablaze.
Sanctum Memorial Hospital
Though this hospital is better equipped, it also houses some longer-term patients like the elderly and individuals who require permanent life support. Saint Margery's has little capacity to maintain patients who need long-term care, and as a result, it functions more as an active trauma center. In contrast, those in the Sanctum tend to sustain fewer trauma wounds but do still fall ill or grow old. During the event, these long-term and elderly patients will be the most vulnerable, as well as the nursing ward and children's ward.
Grandview Cinemas
The Sanctum has two theaters in the area, making for a total of three cinemas in Panorama. The Grandview Cinemas are sister theaters and serve hot food in addition to popcorn. Screens are larger and sound quality is better. Projectors, films, and other equipment are in danger of being stolen during the event.
T.M. Labs
The Transversal Marine lab has been researching how to bring the ocean to the Diadem. These researchers believe that the Diadem cannot reach its full potential without a large body of water, one of the key elements of many life-sustaining planets. As a result, they've been conducting a variety of experiments with tissue and other specimens taken from the diffusion zones any time an ocean-like or water-like zone spawns: aquariums, beaches, rivers, and so on. Success has been limited, but their research is may have unknown effects if any specimens or spores escape containment.
